Distance: between 4 - 8 km

Duration: 3 hours

Best moment: All year.

Description

OPTION 1:

We depart from Pirámides, ascending Cerro Olazábal with an excellent panoramic view of Golfo Nuevo, where we can observe numerous Southern Right Whales from the height. The journey continues along cliff edges amid marine fossils dating back 15 million years, when the Valdés Peninsula was beneath the Atlantic Ocean. We then reach the Dune System, where we can witness the contrast between the desert and the sea, visit sites of indigenous settlement, and pass by the cemetery of Italian immigrants: workers in the salt industry in the early 20th century, who were the first settlers of Puerto Pirámides.

The walk continues downhill through a ravine until we reach a solitary beach with three incredible caves, and then we leisurely walk back to the village along the beach. During this hike, we can enjoy Southern Right Whales with their calves very close to the coast.

OPTION 2:

We start from Puerto Pirámides, ascending one of the cliffs with the best views of the bay. We'll walk along trails and cliff edges where we'll have continuous sightings of Southern Right Whales from above (during the season). Then, we'll descend through the Fossil Ravine towards Playa de las Cuevas, where you can enjoy excellent swims in the clear waters during the summer. In the summer, we provide binoculars and snorkeling gear to fully enjoy this location.

Blue Eye Beach

Distance: 17 km

Duration: 7 hs

Includes:  Lunch.

Best moment: All year.

Description

We left Puerto Pirámides on a walk where we passed by the deserted Playa de los Molinos, then we climbed a cliff, walked along Guanaco trails, crossed dunes where the sea and the desert come together in the same landscape, entered sea caves, walked along sandbanks and passed by natural pools of crystalline waters.

Without a doubt, this beach is considered one of the most beautiful in the Valdés Peninsula, with pebble beaches, very deep and with crystal-clear waters. We can enjoy the right whales with their young in this magical place very close to the coast.

In the summer, get ready for a swim in its natural pools. A journey in a place that leaves you speechless, too much beauty in one place. On the way we will make a geological interpretation of the area, and then we will return to Puerto Pirámides.

Description

We arrive by vehicle at Playa Villarino, and from there, we begin our hike along coastal sandbanks where the sea will always be by our side. We'll walk about 6 km, with our final destination being Bahía Encantada. Along the way, we'll pass by a sea lion colony where you can see the young sea lions swimming in the transparent waters, quite close to you.

During whale season, we'll have continuous whale sightings from the coast, just meters away from the trail we use for our journey. We'll make a stop at "El Rascadero" beach, a pebble-covered beach with deep waters, an ideal spot to observe whales and enjoy our picnic.

On the opposite side of the coast, we'll encounter the typical Patagonian steppe, rich in terrestrial fauna such as guanacos, rheas, maras, and choiques.

This excursion takes place in a completely wild environment, allowing you to be in harmony with nature.

Distance: 17 km / Duration: 7 hs    Includes:  Lunch.

Best moment: All year.

Description

Your chance to see a model course in Peninsula Valdés, to be in places that are not visited by tourists and that have been chosen by terrestrial fauna for the quality of their grasslands.

We begin our walk in the middle of the shrub steppe, between Olivillos and Pastizales, we will arrive at a natural viewpoint of the deserted Playa Colombo from where we can observe a true sea of dunes below us, we will go down the dunes towards the beach.

In this particular dune system, we will be able to see geological formations that take us back to the seabed of about 20 million years ago when the Valdés Peninsula was under the Atlantic Ocean and it is also a space that has been used by our ancestors about 3,000 years ago, a site that speaks for itself.
